This evening we visited the Downtown area of Beirut. This was an area which was mostly destroyed during the troubles of 80's and recently renovated and transformed into a chic high-end shopping and cafe quarter.
While visiting this area it was great to see how united Lebanon has become, this was displayed prominently with a statue marking Muslims and Christians coming together at the sight of the Green Line, no mans land of the civil war.
My word. Now that is a photo to make you stop. Brings up that feeling that doesn't quite have a word, the "whispered wow".
